Vegetables Fennel
Five fennel bulbs laid in a wooden bowl.
Fennel
Fennel is a cool-season crop that grows to about 2' in height, with feathery, edible, dill-like foliage. The base of the leaf stalks overlap and swell to form a thick, crisp, above-ground bulb with a fresh, delicate anise-like flavor. Johnny's offers hybrid and open-pollinated, organic and conventional fennel varieties, including seed with NOP-compliant pelleting to increase planting uniformity and efficiency. (See our Herbs section for Leaf Fennel.)
