A New England and Canadian fall and winter favorite, rutabaga is easy to grow. Although it requires some time to reach maturity, rutabaga tolerates the cool weather as it matures for harvest in the late fall. Its flavor is mild and sweet, brightening fall and winter vegetable dishes, soups, and stews. Rutabagas also store well, making them a great addition for winter markets.
